It was wonderful experience, the pilots were amazing and very kind and sweet. And customer service was very attentive. Definitely an experience to do again
These folks hold the government contract for military fuel at the airport, yet insist on charging exorbitant ramp fees that prohibit us from visiting despite the ramp being wide open. Would love to stop and get gas, but cannot due to these foolish policies. What a way to treat the military crews who want to visit. Why don't y'all forfeit the contract and allow signature, or someone else who is more hospitable, to step in?? Thanks!
The folks who work the front desk are friendly, but the FBO's policies are very deceitful. TLDR: They hate military. Take your business elsewhere. They have a government contract for military aircraft to park and get fuel from their FBO, however their standing (unofficial) policy is to deny military aircraft reservations. When military aircraft show up unannounced, they charge excessive fees that were not disclosed at the time of paying for gas. (happened in 2019) Over 4 years, I have tried to make reservations for 1-2 aircraft to park over the weekend and get gas and they have always denied me and blame it on "no ramp space". At first I bought into it, but by the 6th try to make a reservation over a month in advanced, I realized something was up when denied for "ramp space." (My aircraft is the size of Cessna or Piper, not large). I called back the next day but did not give them my military aircraft type, viola I had a reservation. They realized I hadn't given them the aircraft type and called back to get it. I told them. Abruptly, their answer changed and they said they would have to speak with the FBO manager. They called back again and this time say "sorry, no ramp space." Frustrated, I gave up and parked at a MUCH better to military friendly FBO that starts with a M. Fast forward a year, I am planning a Military Exercise with entities outside my Branch. I am fed the same line of "ramp space" by the front desk folks. This time, I ask to speak the the FBO manager. Very polite, but he told me, sorry, we cannot help you. You cannot park here. I explain it's a government exercise that we are not able to execute because of your policy that goes against the entire purpose of having a government contract. Atlantic, get rid of the government contract. You obviously don't want us there, (I assume because you loose money on us.) We don't want to want to feel like second class Aviators being told no. DLA, do NOT renew the contract. This place is an actual disservice to military.
This FBO is a really nice place to go. They have great amenities as a pilot lounge, meeting rooms, and a dinner area with complementary coffee and vending machines. They offer you crew cars or shuttle service, too. And the best of all, their personnel is very kind and proactive. They also handled our aircraft in a good way. I definitely recommend this FBO.
